At Space City Law, we believe in making quality legal representation accessible and predictable. While we do not operate on a contingency-only model, we offer a modest upfront retainer and a small monthly fee to help clients manage costs while receiving ongoing support. This structure allows us to stay actively engaged in your case—whether that means preparing filings, communicating with opposing counsel, or guiding you through each step of the legal process. We’re committed to transparency, and we’ll always walk you through what to expect before you commit.
Unlike many plaintiff’s lawyers who work exclusively on a pure contingency basis (no upfront fees, but often 40% of your settlement plus repayment of expenses at the end), our model is designed to keep your costs lower and more predictable throughout your case.
Here’s how it works:
Retainer: A one-time $500 retainer, which primarily covers the federal filing fee (currently $405).
Monthly Support Fee: A flat subscription-style payment for as long as your case is active:
$375/month for discrimination cases
$200/month for wage/pay cases
This approach means you don’t face a large lump sum at the conclusion of your case, and you’ll know from the start exactly what your monthly costs will be.
